William and Brenda spoke at a Black History Month service at a Niles church February 28, with the theme, “Looking Back to Move Ahead.” One purpose of the meeting was to bring both Black and white Niles communities together.

Book Launch at Niles Library
Brenda Walker Beadenkopf’s book launch and signing for A Quaker Behind the Dream: Charlie Walker and the Civil Rights Movement, Volume 1 1920-1955, was held at the Niles District Library October 29, where the local author, speaker and workshop leader told about the inspiring true story of her father, a trainer and organizer in nonviolent direct action and his involvement and correspondence with Martin Luther King.
